Position Summary

The Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Guiding and mentoring a team of developers, testers, and other IT professionals, fostering their growth and encouraging the development of junior team members.
  • Evaluating the work completed by fellow developers, testers, and business analysts to ensure compliance with established standards and best practices.
  • Collaborating with project managers to organize tasks for your development team, which will encompass various projects.
  • Creating new solutions and refining existing ones, often in collaboration with other developers, testers, and external partners.
  • Ensuring that our software solutions align with evolving requirements throughout the software development lifecycle by:
  • Maintaining high coding standards, providing relevant comments at critical points, and ensuring readability.
  • Documenting processes through data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, and entity relationship diagrams.
  • Taking ownership of and achieving developer team objectives as directed by the IT leadership.
  • Supporting the sales and client management teams as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience in software development.
  • Proficient in C#, .NET Core, and T-SQL.
  • Experience with SQL databases, including the use of stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience in managing junior team members.
  • Ability to influence and engage with senior stakeholders effectively.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Management experience overseeing a team of up to 10 individuals.
  • Relevant certifications such as AZ-204.
  • Background in the pensions or financial services sector.
  • Understanding of web application development, particularly with React.
