Principal Structural Engineer

At Aker Solutions, we are committed to helping the energy industry and broader society transition towards a low-carbon future. Our consultancy will provide broad multi-faceted advice to our customers, addressing both technical and commercial risks in the developing energy mix. We are looking for a Principal Structural Engineer who can strengthen our capabilities in our Aberdeen offices (Hybrid working).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform structural engineering and analysis for initial feasibility study, concept design and pre-FEED project phases.
  • Prepare and finish structural reports
  • Prepare structural philosophies and conceptual MTOs / quantities
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations.
  • Prepare structural input to proposals


Requirements:
  • University civil or structural engineering degree or relevant education with more than 15 years post graduate experience in front end or FEED projects.
  • Substantial experience within the offshore oil & gas/renewable energy sector.
  • Experience in the design of jackets and topsides (greenfield / brownfield)
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience of structural analysis software / tools such as STAADPro and SESAM.
  • Knowledge of design software such as E3D, Navisworks and Autocad.
  • Knowledge of non-linear software, such as Abaqus is beneficial.
