About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Theatre Practitioner to join our team at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. As an Operating Department Practitioner, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our theatres, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate individualized and evidence-based care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and efficient theatre operations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to promote effective communication and care.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge, contributing to the growth and development of the team.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and efficient theatre environment, adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (RN) holding current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Good liaison, negotiating, persuasive, motivational, and empathic skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • IT literacy and ability to assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate individualized and evidence-based care.
  • Ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
