About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Principal Planning Officer to join our Development Management team. As a key professional role, you will support the Area Planning Managers, assist with mentoring a team of area-based planning officers, manage a caseload of major and minor applications, and deliver the objectives of the wider development management service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Area Planning Managers in the delivery of the development management service
  • Assist with mentoring a team of area-based planning officers
  • Manage a caseload of major and minor applications
  • Deliver the objectives of the wider development management service
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level
  • Membership of the RTPI
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound and demonstrable experience of negotiation and resolution in dealing with complex planning applications, pre-applications, and appeals
  • Experience either within a public sector development management team and/or a private sector planning consultancy
