About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Despatch Service Operative to join our team at Greencore. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up production lines with the correct packaging, trays, and cages to ensure efficient production.
- Ensure tape machines are properly set up and supplied with tape to maintain production flow.
- Use hand pallet trucks to move packaging and materials throughout the area.
- Move finished products from production lines to blast chills.
- Book stock into chills for picking, using JBA guns.
- Complete traceability paperwork for blast chilling, including use-by dates, temperatures, and times.
- Count stock to ensure adequate supply of packaging and correct amounts of finished stock are produced.
- Move finished products to pick areas once chilled, for palletizing and despatch.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role or food environment (desirable, but not necessary).
- Able to read and write in English.
- Basic level of Maths required (counting stock, using calculators, JBA guns).
- Ability to work under pressure to ensure lines are serviced and run continuously.
- Great attention to detail (completing traceability paperwork, accuracy is crucial).
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members.
