We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our community dietetic team as a Children's Dietetic Assistant Practitioner. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of community dietitians to provide high-quality patient care in the community service.

The role involves providing clinical and administrative support to various clinical areas across the service, including tube-fed children in Liverpool and Sefton. We are looking for an individual with a passion for working in the NHS and a desire to improve patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist specialist dietitians and healthcare staff in providing a quality dietetic service to patients.
  • Deliver specific elements of dietetic management within a defined scope of practice and with clinical supervision.
  • Support families and other agencies, such as schools and care settings, to facilitate challenging dietary change.
  • Undertake administrative and clerical duties to maintain good organization of the service and support the dietetic team.
  • Nutritional assessment and provision of dietetic advice, working alongside dietitians to ensure patient nutritional needs are met.
  • Use a computerized dietary nutritional assessment program.
  • Nutritional resource development for children, adolescents, and families.
  • Service development, implementation, and audit/survey of patient care practices as part of clinical governance.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Completion of a degree or NVQ level 5 in Nutrition or a health-based subject or equivalent experience.
  • GCSE Maths and English.
  • Experience of working with children, young people, and their families.
  • Knowledge of dietary needs of different patient groups.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
