About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at the Vale of Glamorgan Council. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities to participate in meaningful day opportunities in the community and at our service base.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals with learning disabilities to achieve their wellbeing outcomes through person-centered planning and goal setting.
- Drive safely and transport individuals to activities as per their person-centered plans.
- Attend to the personal care and health needs of individuals, ensuring their dignity and comfort are maintained at all times.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to the compilation of reports to support individual progress and service development.
Requirements
- Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.
- Ability to drive large vehicles, with a willingness to drive wheelchair-adapted vehicles when required.
- Good general standard of education and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Reliable, flexible, and sensitive to the needs of individuals with learning disabilities.
