About Us
Vale of Glamorgan Council's Learning Disability Day Services provide support to adults with learning disabilities who may also have complex needs. Our goal is to help individuals access a wide range of day-time opportunities, including work, volunteering, education, and leisure activities.
About the Role
This role involves supporting individuals with learning disabilities to participate in meaningful day opportunities in the community and at our service base. You will be required to drive individuals to activities, as per their person-centred plans, and attend to their personal care and health needs. You will also maintain records and help to compile reports.
About You
We are looking for someone with experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, who is able to drive large vehicles and is willing to drive wheelchair-adapted vehicles when required. You should also have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and be reliable, flexible, and sensitive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals with learning disabilities to participate in day opportunities
- Drive individuals to activities, as per their person-centred plans
- Attend to personal care and health needs of individuals
- Maintain records and compile reports
