Position Overview

Are you proficient in the upkeep and support of automation and monitoring systems? Do you possess the capability to manage new initiatives and resolve technical challenges? If so, we have a compelling opportunity for you to become an integral member of our Automation Division. In this role, you will be essential in overseeing and coordinating responses to system failures within our GMP Manufacturing Facility and Laboratories. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with external suppliers and contractors on enhancement projects, ensuring that evaluations and documentation are completed punctually.

Core Responsibilities

  • System Diagnostics: Identify and rectify issues with automation systems, including IMS, DeltaV, SCADA platforms, and contemporary PLC/DCS systems and wiring.
  • Calibration Oversight: Manage the adjustment and calibration of instruments within manufacturing and laboratory environments.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Partner with equipment suppliers and contractors to address startup challenges.
  • System Design: Create and document new automation systems from initial concept through to final validation.
  • Process Optimization: Recognize and resolve process control challenges to improve system efficiency.
  • Configuration Management: Maintain and oversee the configuration of existing PLC/DCS source code.
  • Operational Assistance: Provide engineering support for automation systems during production operations and downtime.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all instrument calibrations comply with the established schedule.
  • Documentation: Execute tasks and maintain records in accordance with GMP, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Oversight: Supervise external supplier/contractor activities to ensure adherence to defined specifications.

Essential Qualifications

  • Educational Credentials: Minimum of an HND or equivalent qualification.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with PLC/DCS and Automation System Platforms (SCADA, Building Management Systems BMS, Wonderware/Aveva).
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Windows Servers and advanced computing technologies.
  • Control Systems Acumen: Knowledge of PID control, feedback control, and system dynamics.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong capabilities in teamwork, motivating, leading, and managing teams and projects.
  • Regulatory Background: Previous experience in a regulated environment.
