The Role:
As the Head of Financial Accounts and Systems, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the financial operations of this impactful organization. You will lead the financial accounting team, manage and develop the financial systems, and ensure the integrity and efficiency of the financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop the financial accounts team, providing guidance and support to achieve success.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Charity SORP standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure strict adherence to financial regulations and accounting principles within the organization.
- Implement and maintain robust financial systems and processes to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
- Provide support in the procurement and implementation/upgrade of a new finance system, ensuring seamless transition and optimal functionality.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to align financial strategies with the overall objectives of the charity.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and transparent communication.
About You:
- Hold a recognized accounting qualification such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
- Possess proven experience in a senior financial role, ideally within the non-profit sector (but not essential).
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles, including Charity SORP.
- Exhibit exceptional leadership and team management skills to motivate and guide your team effectively.
- Be proficient in utilizing financial systems and accounting software to manage financial data accurately.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address financial challenges efficiently.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering positive relationships.
