At Anglian Water, we conduct extensive sampling and analysis daily. Our mission is to guarantee that the water our customers consume is safe and that the water returned to the environment is devoid of harmful contaminants.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Environmental Field Technician, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for water monitoring and analysis. Your primary task will involve collecting samples from various sources, including rivers and our Water Recycling Centres, ensuring compliance with established protocols.

Each sample you collect must be accurately documented and handled according to our regulatory standards, emphasizing safety and timeliness. You will adhere to strict quality assurance processes and utilize calibrated equipment to facilitate the transportation of samples back to our laboratories for thorough analysis, ensuring compliance with Environment Agency Regulations and Urban Wastewater Treatment Regulations.

Your high level of service is crucial to our laboratory and customers. You will be provided with a company vehicle and are expected to represent Anglian Water in a professional and approachable manner. Building effective working relationships is essential, and you should enjoy engaging with others.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

We are looking for a dependable and professional individual with a scientific qualification.

Comfort with manual lifting and driving throughout the day is necessary. This position will require adaptability as you will work in diverse environments, so a flexible and proactive attitude is essential.

The ability to follow defined methods and accurately record information is crucial, requiring focus and attention to detail. Successful candidates will thrive in a time-sensitive role, demonstrating self-motivation and organizational skills to ensure all tasks are completed as per our methods and procedures.

Previous experience with environmental samples is advantageous.

Anglian Water operates year-round. A flexible approach to your role is necessary, as participation in a standby rota, including weekend and evening sampling, is required. Due to the standby requirement, residing within a reasonable distance from the Huntingdon area is essential.
