Your role is vital to our analytical excellence

At Anglian Water, we are dedicated to collecting and analyzing numerous samples daily. Our mission is to ensure that the water our customers consume is safe and that the water returned to the environment is devoid of harmful substances.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Environmental Sampling Technician, you will be part of a team responsible for field sampling, which is essential in the water monitoring and analysis process. Your duties will include obtaining samples from rivers and Anglian Water's Water Recycling Centres, including final effluent sampling.

Each sample you collect must be accurately recorded and monitored according to our regulatory standards, ensuring timely and safe procedures. Your high level of service is crucial to our laboratory and customers. You will be provided with a company vehicle and are expected to represent Anglian Water in a professional and approachable manner. Building strong working relationships is essential, and you should enjoy interacting with others.

Required Qualifications:

The ability to follow defined methods and accurately record information is essential, requiring focus and a keen attention to detail. Successful candidates will enjoy driving and working independently while being part of a larger team. You should thrive in a time-sensitive role, be self-motivated, and maintain an organized approach to ensure all tasks are completed as per our methods and procedures.

Experience with environmental samples is a plus.

Anglian Water operates year-round. A flexible approach to your role is required, including participation in a standby rota that may involve weekend and evening sampling. Due to the standby requirement, you must reside within a reasonable distance from the coverage area.

Benefits Offered:

As a leading water company, we value our employees and strive to reward and recognize their contributions. Our benefits include:

  • Competitive pension scheme with double-matched contributions up to 6%
  • Personal private health care

  • Free parking at all company locations
  • Family-friendly policies, including 26 weeks of full pay for maternity/adoption leave and 4 weeks of paternity/partner pay, with opportunities for shared parental pay

We are committed to the learning and development of our employees, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed and reach their potential. Health and Safety is a top priority in all our operations.

If you are offered a position with us, you will undergo standard employment checks, including verification of your right to work, references, driving license, and identity verification. Depending on your role, additional pre-employment checks may apply.

Successful candidates will have access to a company vehicle, so a full driving license is essential.
