Salus Insurance is seeking a highly skilled Development Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for managing and developing our book of new business and broker relationships in the North of England.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular on-site broker visits and underwriting surgeries to build strong relationships with key broker partners.
  • Act as an escalation point for broker queries and concerns, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Review and underwrite new business quotations across all products within our underwriting appetite, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve work processes and promote overall corporate goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, identifying new business opportunities and driving growth.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in underwriting commercial insurance risks, with a focus on property and casualty.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining broker relationships, preferably in the North of England.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders.
