Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Virtual Ward Early Supported Discharge (ESD) team at Swansea Bay University Health Board.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a defined caseload within the specialist area, utilizing evidence-based and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the outcomes of intervention.
- Organize and prioritize clinical work efficiently, ensuring effective use of time and resources.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records, reporting to relevant stakeholders as required.
- Collaborate with clients, carers, and multidisciplinary/multi-agency teams to identify relevant goals and develop personalized care plans.
- Provide leadership and supervision to junior staff, as delegated by the supervisor/team leader.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements, promoting their professional development.
- Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and contribute to the development of the Occupational Therapy service through the Band 6 Development Programme and other initiatives.
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent OT qualification)
- Professional Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Relevant postgraduate level training or experience
- Accredited fieldwork supervisor for the education of OT students (desirable)
- Ability to work autonomously with individuals or groups
- Understanding of team dynamics and effective communication
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance
