R&D Tax Senior Manager

We are seeking an experienced R&D Tax Senior Manager to join our team at PRO-TAX RECRUITMENT LIMITED. As a key member of our R&D tax department, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and supporting client success.
Key Responsibilities:- Team Leadership: Contribute to the management of a small team of R&D tax relief specialists, providing guidance and support on technical issues and best practices.
- R&D Tax Relief Claims: Review and approve R&D tax relief claims prepared by the team.
- Client Relationships: Lead meetings with key clients to identify R&D tax relief opportunities and provide expert advice on tax implications, making referrals to other specialists within the business as appropriate.
- HMRC Liaison: Manage relationships with HMRC in relation to R&D tax relief claims, including leading discussions and negotiations with HMRC.
- Client Development: Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to ensure that their affairs are managed effectively.
- Industry Expertise: Stay up-to-date with changes in the UK tax system, particularly with regard to R&D tax relief, and provide guidance to the wider business and clients on these changes.
- Best Practice: Contribute to the development of best practice within the R&D team to drive continual improvements in service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Industry Representation: Represent the firm at industry events and conferences.
- Complex Billing: Take responsibility for managing complex billing discussions with clients and suppliers.
- Experience: Significant experience (4 years or more) of managing R&D claims and personnel within an R&D tax department of an accounting practice or a large boutique.
- R&D Tax Knowledge: Excellent working knowledge of R&D tax incentives.
- Project Management: Excellent project management skills.
- Coaching and Delegation: Skills in coaching and delegation.
- Client Handling: Ability to handle a large portfolio of clients across a range of sectors.
- Technical Background: Strong technical background, for example, a STEM degree, or the ability to demonstrate technical skills and knowledge gained through experience in R&D tax.
- Training and Mentoring: Experience in training and mentoring R&D staff members.
- Strategic Leadership: A strong desire to develop and lead from a strategic perspective.
