Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team at an SEN primary school in Portsmouth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support to children with behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing behaviour plans and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Support the academic and social development of pupils with SEN.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Contribute to a safe and supportive classroom environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience working as a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant or in a similar role in an SEN or primary school.
  • A relevant qualification, such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ, or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
  • A passion for working with children with special educational needs.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
