About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Merchandiser to join our team at Asda Stores Ltd. As a Merchandiser, you will play a crucial role in delivering a commercial range alongside the Buyer, while also overseeing the planning and weekly trading of your category.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Buyer to set the category strategy and develop a comprehensive business plan.
  • Deliver the business plan by working on longer-term strategy and shorter-term proactive sales-driving activity.
  • Drive the business to maximize profit in-season by analyzing sales data and making informed decisions.
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure seamless product delivery and availability.
  • Manage product critical path and lifecycle to ensure launch availability and full availability on continuity lines.
  • Accurately forecast sales, stock turn, and markdown to achieve maximum profit.
  • Plan and execute markdown activity to optimize sales and profitability.
  • Analyze sales data to provide recommendations for range control, budgeting, and selection for future seasons.
  • Collaborate with the buying team to further understand customer needs and competitor activity.
