About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead in Older Adults Liaison Psychiatry to join our multidisciplinary team at East London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and working closely with our team manager and service lead to deliver high-quality assessment and treatment to adults and older adults attending our Emergency Department and acute wards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and work collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality care to patients
  • Contribute to the overall management and service development of the liaison psychiatry service
  • Work closely with the team manager and service lead to develop and implement service plans and strategies
  • Provide expert advice and support to clinicians in the Emergency Department and acute wards
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to liaison psychiatry
Requirements
  • Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months
  • Approved under S12 or able to achieve within three months
  • MRCPsych or equivalent
  • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management
  • Formal leadership/management training
  • Excellent knowledge of operation of acute adult and older adult mental health services
  • Understanding of relevant Government guidelines, targets, and legislation
  • Excellent knowledge of mental health and capacity law, in particular application of the MCA 2005
