Job Summary

The Department of Clinical Research at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to support the management of acute research trials and research staff in all areas of data management.

This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to work in a friendly and experienced team, managing acute studies across the wider Department of Clinical Research.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide administrative and data support for acute research trials and research staff in all areas of data management. This will include offering valuable support to the Research Nurses with their data and paperwork to ensure that clinical trials and studies are set up and approved in a timely manner.

An in-depth induction and training period will be provided, and some clinical, admin, and NHS research experience would be an advantage but not essential. A good teamwork approach and evidence of a good standard of literacy and English language skills are essential.

The successful candidate will have the chance to work in a supportive team environment and develop their skills and knowledge in data management and clinical research.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Good standard of education: English, Mathematics, and a science GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Computer qualification (e.g. European Computer Driving License, MOST) or ability to demonstrate a high standard of proficiency in MS Office and electronic file management
  • Experience of working in the NHS or similar organization

Desirable

  • Experience in clinical data collection or audit
  • Experience working with medical records
