Job Overview:

We are in search of a skilled and proactive machinery operator to become a part of our dynamic workforce.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in operating various machinery, particularly excavators, and will contribute to local project execution while being open to travel and overnight stays as necessary.

This role requires technical proficiency, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to site and environmental safety.

We seek an individual who enjoys outdoor work, demonstrates a positive work ethic, and adopts a practical approach.

You will play a crucial role in the execution of environmental enhancement initiatives, adhering to health and safety regulations and environmental standards. Ongoing training and development opportunities will be provided, with significant potential for career advancement. This position may appeal to those transitioning from a conventional land-based career to one with a greater environmental focus. The work is diverse and engaging, with completed projects offering substantial job satisfaction and a genuine sense of accomplishment.
Standard working hours are 45 per week, with additional hours as required. Weekend work may occasionally be necessary during critical project phases. This is a full-time role, but we can offer flexibility in working hours where feasible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently operate machinery, including excavators, dumpers, and other equipment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks and troubleshooting.
  • Follow project specifications and plans to ensure accurate task completion.
  • Engage in physical labor as needed to support project objectives.
  • Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and uphold quality standards.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Travel to various project sites as required.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Machinery Operator, particularly in excavator operation.
  • Current excavator qualifications and relevant certifications.
  • Courteous demeanor and ability to perform physical tasks when necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home as needed.
  • Valid UK driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional qualifications or certifications in machinery operation and first aid.
  • Experience in river and wetland restoration, construction, and working in aquatic environments.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
