Freight Operations Specialist

Reed is seeking a skilled Freight Operations Specialist to join our team at Gatwick Airport. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing continuity for contracted customers and Programme Managers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Customer Focal Point: Act as the primary point of contact for maintenance requests from contracted customers, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
  2. Supply Chain Management: Identify sources of supply, arrange shipment, and negotiate with suppliers to meet contractual service levels.
  3. Operational Demands: Assist with daily operational demands process, fulfilling customer requests in accordance with contractual service levels.
  4. Customer Backlog Management: Minimize delays, maintain excellent communication with customers, and provide alternative solutions.
  5. Investigation and Resolution: Investigate open demands, expedite repair/purchase orders, and review systems for alternatives.
  6. Tendering and Procurement: Tender the market for cost-efficient supply solutions when demands cannot be satisfied through expedite process.
  7. Shipping and Communication: Follow demands through until shipping information is provided by freight forwarders and communicate updates to airlines.
  8. Feedback and Improvement: Provide 360 feedback to Operations Specialist Team Leader for future improvements and changes.
  9. Programme and Operations Management: Proactively engage with Programme and Operations managers to ensure implementation of contractual requirements and guarantee customer satisfaction.
