Collyers TMA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Freight Liability Claims Adjuster to join our team. As a key member of our claims handling team, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of claims from initial notification to resolution.
Key Responsibilities:- Assessing accurately the insured's legal liability under their STCs, B/L, HAWB or bespoke contract terms and adjusting claims in conformity with insurance cover
- Advising clients concerning service contract liability and clauses
- Formulating client defence strategies and managing the claims process with insurers and the insured
- Ensuring that claims reserves are correctly maintained and that the IT system is up to date with all key information
- The appointment and control of surveyors, adjusters and lawyers to ensure timely intervention and mitigation of claims
- Ensuring that claims are handled properly, fairly and with integrity in accordance with Collyers' service agreements with its clients
- Identifying and pursuing potential recoveries against responsible subcontractors and third parties
- Maintaining high standards of communication with senior management, team members and principals
- At least 6 years' experience of freight liability claims
- Candidates with marine cargo claims or risk management experience will be considered, but familiarity with the legal framework applying to road, air and ocean transit must be demonstrated
- Graduate and/or ACII equivalent
- Good telephone manner and verbal communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Excel/Outlook/Word) operating within Windows 10
- Foreign language skills would be an advantage as would experience of risk management
This is a full-time position encompassing 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
