Senior Quantity Surveyor Opportunity

Carrington West is seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a major construction project in the nuclear/defence space.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage cost and budget planning through the RIBA lifecycle, ensuring compliance with project briefs, timelines, and budget estimates.
  • Compile NEC forms of contract and other commercial documents for procurement, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Design and implement contract cost models and performance management strategies, ensuring compliance with project regulations and standards.
  • Lead the commercial evaluation and negotiation of tenders, validating and benchmarking proposals to enhance value while maintaining required standards.
  • Capture, record, and utilize cost data for future procurements, reporting into the Estimating Benchmarking database.
  • Identify commercial opportunities and mitigate risks during the procurement phase, ensuring sound contract awards.
  • Uphold high standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Significant experience in complex major construction projects, with a background in Defence, Nuclear, Utilities, or related infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with public contract regulations and a Chartered or working towards MRICS or similar qualification.
  • Proven ability in cost and budget planning through the RIBA lifecycle, with capability to design contractor performance management and incentivisation approaches.
  • Experience in commercial evaluation and negotiation of tenders to achieve value for money, with proficiency in identifying commercial opportunities and managing risks during procurement.
