Job Title: Renewable Energy Communications Specialist

Company: Red Rock Power Limited

Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid working available)

Reports to: Communications & Stakeholder Manager

Employment Type: Permanent

Job Purpose:

You will work together with Red Rock Power Limited's Communications Manager and Senior Management team to support the delivery of our renewable energy projects and the business' long-term strategy to expand into new geographical and technology markets. You will provide administrative and operational support on a variety of internal and external communication functions, taking responsibility for key streams of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Implement Communication Plans: Work with Communications Manager to create and implement successful communication plans that align with the company's strategic objectives.
  2. Manage Company Press Office: Support the management of company press office, including proactive and reactive media engagement to ensure timely and effective communication with stakeholders.
  3. Create Content: Create short and long-form content across various platforms and audiences, including company intranet, social media, and external communication channels.
  4. Manage Stakeholder Relationships: Engage with various external stakeholders and manage stakeholder management system to ensure effective communication and relationship-building.
  5. Support CSR Strategies: Support the company's CSR strategies and activities, including managing company's STEM programme and school engagement.
  6. Organize Events: Support the organisation and delivery of events, such as the company's presence at trade exhibitions and project public consultations.
  7. Administrative Support: Assist with the administration of communication activities, including engaging with suppliers and managing procurement processes.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to liaise with people at all levels, on the telephone, face-to-face and in writing.
  • Ability to write for a variety of audiences and channels.

Desirable:

  • Video production and editing.
  • Skilled across various digital and social media channels.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • At least two years of public relations, media relations, public affairs or stakeholder engagement experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience in event management.
  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Experience of external stakeholder management.
  • Knowledge of planning consultation process or previous experience working on development projects.

Qualifications:

Desirable:

  • Qualification in public relations, marketing or politics (HNC, undergraduate or post-graduate).
