Position Overview

Alexander Steele Recruitment is collaborating with a distinguished beverage production company.

The organization is seeking a Sustainability Engineer to oversee their energy and utility management across the facility. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a professional eager to contribute to a leader in the beverage sector. It is an ideal position for someone with a robust engineering background in production who is looking to engage in the dynamic alcoholic beverage manufacturing field.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: £60,000 - £70,000

  • Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, day shifts

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the dependable and efficient functioning of utility systems on-site.
  • Collaborate with Production Teams to monitor energy consumption and implement reduction strategies.

Utility Systems Include:

  • Water supply management (including municipal and canal sources)
  • Electricity supply and distribution, including transformers
  • Natural gas supply and on-site pressure management
  • Steam generation and distribution to the boiler house
  • Compressed air production up to the air receiver
  • CO2 collection, processing, and storage
  • AD, WTP, Biogas Engine, and Waste Heat Recovery Systems
  • Cooling Towers and related Water Hygiene Management Systems

Candidate Profile

  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, or logistics setting.
  • Completion of EITB / City & Guilds or equivalent engineering apprenticeship.
  • Degree in an Engineering Discipline.
  • Proficient in Permit to Work systems, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Trained in Boiler Operations Management in accordance with SAFED/HSE standards.
  • Capable of delivering training on Reliability topics.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations to promote best practices.
