About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nursing professional to join our team as a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and support to staff within the Emergency Department, ensuring effective day-to-day management and delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, staff engagement, and departmental efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior nursing leadership to drive quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and growth.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental plans and objectives.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with extensive experience in the Emergency Department, preferably at Band 6 level or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Strong knowledge of quality improvement principles, patient safety, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities and demands.
