As a Culinary Specialist, your responsibilities will include: Assisting the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen. Ensuring proper food storage practices and stock rotation are followed. Preparing, planning, and cooking meals to a consistently high standard, accommodating special requests and dietary needs. Serving meals to residents, staff, and visitors with professionalism and courtesy. Preparing and producing food for events and gatherings. Participating in food cost management through effective control measures. Complying with 'Safer Food Better Business' standards and maintaining accurate records. Adhering to Food Hygiene Regulations and safety protocols at all times. Taking full responsibility for the catering operations during your shift. Supporting the Head Chef in researching and developing new menus that align with healthy eating guidelines. Accurately maintaining all paperwork related to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system, including temperature logs and cleaning schedules.

To excel in this role, you will need:

To be at least 18 years of age. A GCSE or equivalent qualification in English. City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) in Basic Food Preparation and Cooking. Basic Food Hygiene certification (essential). Intermediate Food Hygiene certification (desirable). Previous experience in a similar culinary environment. Experience in delivering large-scale food services. Skills in menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control, and budget management.
