About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Physiologist to join our team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. As a Senior Respiratory Physiologist, you will play a key role in providing diagnostic testing and treatment to patients with respiratory and non-respiratory conditions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Perform lung function testing, unsupervised, to obtain accurate and clinically valuable measurements.
  • Lead and educate patients in required test techniques, ensuring maximum effort and cooperation.
  • Obtain reproducible and clinically meaningful results, identifying and addressing technical errors.
  • Distribute and interpret results for colleagues, junior staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and departmental colleagues.
  • Produce written reports on lung function measurements and patient cooperation.
Requirements
  • BSc Healthcare Science or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to progress to HCPC/RCCP registration.
  • Relevant practical experience in respiratory physiology.
  • Specialist knowledge across a range of procedures within respiratory physiology.
  • Planning and organisation skills, including patient scheduling.
  • Attention to detail throughout patient testing.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
