Position Overview

We are currently in search of a proficient Refuse Collection Operator to become a vital part of our client's team, which has been servicing a diverse range of clients in the waste management sector.

Role Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities will involve the collection of waste materials across various locations.

The ideal candidate will execute their duties in a safe and effective manner. Candidates with prior experience as a Refuse Collection Operator and exceptional driving capabilities are encouraged to consider this opportunity.

Compensation: £17 per hour

Operational Schedule

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely navigate the refuse collection vehicle to designated sites
  • Gather waste and recycling from specified locations and ensure proper disposal at designated facilities (primarily using refuse collection vehicles, but may include other types of vehicles).
  • Conduct vehicle inspections for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance as needed
  • Collect various types of waste including general refuse, mixed recycling, glass, cardboard, food waste, and construction debris.
  • Comply with all traffic laws and regulations during operations
  • Deliver outstanding customer service during waste collection activities

Candidate Requirements:

  • Valid UK Driving License, CPC, and Tacho card
  • Demonstrated experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar capacity
  • Strong driving skills with a clean driving history
  • Capability to operate flatbed vehicles safely and effectively
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently while accurately following instructions

Work Hours: Maximum of 10 hours per week

  • Monday to Friday
  • Availability on weekends

Experience Required:

  • Driving: 1 year (preferred)

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
  • Driver CPC (preferred)

Work Environment: On the road
