Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our team in the UK. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products for our industrial controls market. This is a key role within our company, and the successful candidate will contribute significantly to our business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new products through our internal NPD business process
  • Design industrial control components and assemblies, including generation of 3D CAD models and 2D part/assembly drawings
  • Write technical reports and design calculations
  • Apply advanced simulation techniques and create DFMEAs
  • Design and manage Design Verification Plans
  • Deliver technical presentations to customers and stakeholders
  • Generate intellectual property and patent applications
  • Participate in cross-disciplinary project teams and support project managers with reporting on project progress
  • Travel to customer meetings and supplier visits as required

Critical Competencies for Success

  • Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
  • Diploma in Computer-Aided Design and experience with CAE tools (such as FEA/CFD/Moldflow)
  • 3-5 years of component design experience with a good understanding of industrial control components or similar
  • History of designing and developing new products into various sectors and industries
  • Experience in mechatronics and integration of electronic components
  • Sound understanding of fundamental engineering principles
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and creativity
  • Extensive knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
