We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at AGM Construction Recruitment. As a key member, you will be involved in diverse projects, collaborating closely with clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Produce calculations for structural materials, including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber, using industry-standard software.
  • Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Conduct site visits and attend meetings with clients and contractors, providing technical advice and guidance.
  • Select appropriate construction materials, considering factors such as cost, durability, and sustainability.
  • Provide technical support to clients and colleagues, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Liaise with relevant professionals, including architects, contractors, and other engineers, as part of the design team.
  • Monitor and inspect work undertaken by contractors, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Prepare condition reports of existing structures, identifying areas for improvement and recommending remedial action.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of ten years relevant work experience, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects.
  • MIStructE or MICE qualification, or working towards it, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, with a minimum of 5 years UK-based experience, and experience with design software such as Tekla TEDDS, Tekla Building Designer, and Fastrak Portal on UK projects.
  • Experience in steelwork and reinforced concrete design, with a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent critical thinking and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and deliver projects from start to completion.
