Houston & Hawkes is seeking a talented and experienced Executive Pastry Chef to oversee the pastry section and lead a team of skilled pastry chefs. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating innovative and delicious pastry dishes that exceed our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new pastry recipes and menus to drive sales and customer satisfaction
  • Lead and motivate a team of pastry chefs to achieve high-quality standards and productivity
  • Ensure all pastry ingredients are fresh, of high quality, and stored properly
  • Collaborate with the head chef and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and high-quality food presentation
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and labor expenses to optimize profitability
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and innovations to maintain a competitive edge

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a senior pastry chef in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and develop a team of pastry chefs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues and customers
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and quality standards
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in kitchen management software
