We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Architect to join our team at NatWest, where you will play a key role in shaping the bank's technology strategy and architecture.
About the Role
- As an Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for defining and communicating the current, resultant, and target state architecture for your assigned scope, ensuring alignment with our overall strategy and architecture.
- You will work closely with business owners, portfolio managers, product managers, and release managers to define the target intentional architecture and lead complex and technically challenging architectural transformations.
- Key responsibilities will include setting a can-do attitude for architectural possibilities, translating architecture roadmaps into packages of work, and defining, creating, and maintaining architecture models, roadmaps, standards, and outcomes.
- You will also be responsible for working closely with business owners to define the target intentional architecture, leading complex and technically challenging architectural transformations, and seeking out and utilizing continuous feedback to foster adaptive design and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills and storytelling ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Expert knowledge of application architecture, business, data, and infrastructure architecture, with a good understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Experience of working in an Agile team and enterprise architecture in a large regulated financial institution.
- Experience of assessing and defining options to modernise the core of a large enterprise or major financial institution.
- Ability to lead and drive the architectural design for a major core banking transformation journey and experience of defining roadmaps.
- Understanding of industry architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF and ArchiMate.
- Experience of working with business solution vendors, technology vendors, and products within the market.
- Background in systems development change life cycles, best practices, and approaches aligned to knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering.
- Ability to balance strategic and interim designs, providing pragmatic solution designs.
