The Role: Support Specialist

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Support Specialists. In this role, you will play a vital part in assisting individuals who have experienced homelessness in maximizing their potential and achieving greater independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support to empower customers facing homelessness to reach their full potential.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of customer needs, developing and updating comprehensive support plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and guiding them effectively.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with customers, ensuring they maintain personal choice, privacy, and dignity throughout their journey.
  • Collaborate with external support networks to enhance customer well-being, confidence, and access to opportunities in education, employment, and health.
  • Respond effectively to occasional emergency situations, demonstrating composure and resourcefulness.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed written records, ensuring clear documentation of customer interactions and progress.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience working with adults who have experienced homelessness.
  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals in need and a commitment to their well-being.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport and trust with customers.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach, with a willingness to go the extra mile to support customers.
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care or a willingness to pursue this qualification is essential.
