Position Overview

Due to ongoing expansion, we are currently looking for a People Operations Consultant to become a vital part of our HR department.

In this role, you will be tasked with providing a smooth and effective operational service across various sectors of the organization, offering valuable first-line advice and support to management teams.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with standard working hours of Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and a competitive salary of up to £35,000.

This position requires you to work on-site, five days a week, with no options for remote work.

Due to the location of our operations, personal transportation is necessary for commuting.

Key Responsibilities of the People Operations Consultant include:

Collaborating with and supporting the unionized workforce. Delivering an effective HR support service, ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies and practices. Offering first-line advice, guidance, and coaching to line managers on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, while escalating complex or high-risk issues to the HR Business Partner. Coordinating, attending, and providing assistance for employee relations meetings as needed. Managing the completion of personnel-related changes, including modifications to terms and conditions and recruitment approvals. Tracking and supplying data as requested, utilizing this information to propose and implement initiatives. Advocating and supporting organization-wide processes, such as collaborating with central functions on job evaluations and grading. Maintaining the HR system to ensure timely and accurate employee information. Partnering with Learning and Development and line managers to identify and address training and development needs. Continuously reviewing and enhancing people-related processes to support the ongoing improvement of the HR function.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for the role of People Operations Consultant, candidates should possess the following skills, experience, and qualifications:

A minimum of CIPD Level 3. Prior experience working with a unionized workforce. Understanding of HR legislation and compliance. Proven track record in providing advice on HR-related matters. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities. Flexible and adaptable in approach. A determined and resilient work ethic. Positive and credible, with the ability to foster trust and respect. A commercial and proactive mindset. Proficient IT skills, particularly in the MS Office suite. Excellent communication abilities.
