Pastry Chef Job Description

Adkins & Cheurfi Recruitment is seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to join our client's prestigious 5-star Country House Estate & Hotel in Kelso.


The successful candidate will work alongside senior chefs to assist the Culinary Director in leading the culinary department and creating a supportive working environment.


Responsibilities include day-to-day supervision, creation, preparation, and service of pastry, ensuring the highest standards are maintained at all times.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Run a controlled and smooth kitchen service to deliver quality food and a luxury experience to guests
  • Display passion for the culinary world and inspire and lead the team
  • Proactively contribute to new ideas by creating and developing new seasonal dishes for menus
  • Ensure all team members have healthy and fulfilling meals with lots of choice
  • Ensure the kitchen consistently excels in service and product delivery
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and food safety & hygiene at all times
  • Work as part of the kitchen team, communicating well with others to ensure smooth operation of services
  • Have full awareness of all menu items for the section of the kitchen allocated
  • Maintain a can-do and problem-solving attitude with a fantastic eye for detail and precision
Your Knowledge & Capabilities:
  • Previous experience as a Pastry Chef minimum 3 years, working as part of a fast-moving, quality-driven culinary team
  • Ideal experience in working in a 4/5 Star environment
  • Passion for food and delivering high standards for guests
  • Good eye for detail and pride in work
  • Enthusiastic and positive personality with the ability to build genuine and trusting relationships within a team
  • Strong team player and enjoy leading a team
