About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Gardener to join our Grounds Team at the National Memorial Arboretum. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in maintaining and conserving the 150-acre site, ensuring its beauty and significance are preserved for future generations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage all horticultural areas to the highest standard, ensuring the site's trees, gardens, and grounds are well-manicured and visually appealing.
  • Perform various gardening tasks, including pruning, mowing, planting, and weeding, using both handheld and ride-on machinery.
  • Support volunteers with horticultural projects and maintenance, including participation in the NMA's working weekend.
  • Assist with the documentation of horticultural activities through written and photographic records.
  • Uphold high standards of horticultural and arboricultural care, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
About the National Memorial Arboretum

The Arboretum is the UK's year-round centre of Remembrance and part of the Royal British Legion. Home to over 350 memorials, including the nationally-important Armed Forces Memorial, it remembers the service and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve our country.

The 150-acre site features around 30,000 maturing trees and an abundance of wildlife. Each year, the Arboretum welcomes around 300,000 visitors, many of whom attend one of the 200+ events that take place across the site.
