**About the role**

We are looking for a Volunteer Woodwork Supervisor to support our Community Service in Leek, Staffordshire. You will be based at John Hall Wellness Garden and, ideally, you will be able to commit 2-6 hours per week to volunteering.

**About the service**

Our service is open Monday
- Friday 9am-4pm, and Saturdays 9am-3pm. The Wellness Garden is a pilot project which opened in April 2022 and is being supported by Rethink Mental Illness. Our vision is to become self-funding through support from our local community, and to independently serve the people of Leek and surrounding areas.

Our Garden is a beautiful Victorian walled garden, and we are in the initial stages of developing the grounds, Café, Workspace and various wellbeing activities. We welcome groups into the garden and individuals can also register to become Friends of the Garden.

**What you will be doing as a Volunteer Woodwork Supervisor**:

- Support individuals to develop their confidence in woodworking
- Oversee woodwork sessions with small groups of individuals (no more than 3 at a time) - for example making items to sell at the garden such as bird boxes, feeders, animal houses and planters.
- Oversee the safe use of equipment and that health and safety is being followed.

We are looking for an individual who is friendly, reliable, and approachable, who has woodwork experience and is happy to share this knowledge and support individuals to safely use and maintain our woodworking equipment.
