Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering high-quality personalized care in line with established local and national standards.
- Assisting with the movement and handling of patients.
- Collecting samples from patients for testing or dispatch, such as urine, sputum, feces, MRSA swabs, and blood sugars.
- Supporting patients in meeting their nutritional needs according to their individual care plans.
- Gaining proficiency in performing ECGs, blood draws, and other relevant tasks as required by your role.
- Undertaking clinical responsibilities pertinent to your area of expertise, which may evolve as you achieve competencies.
- Ensuring patient safety by adhering to health, safety, and security regulations, policies, and guidelines.
- Aiding in the maintenance of care standards to enhance patient experiences and outcomes.
- Promoting equality in care by recognizing and respecting the needs and preferences of individuals.

Qualifications & Education
Essential Criteria
- GCSE Maths & English grade C or above / Grade 4 - 9 OR Functional/Key skills level 2 in numeracy and literacy.
- BNCS or NVQ / Internal Level 2 training program.
- Willingness to undertake and complete the Trust's internal Level 3 training program as soon as possible.
Desirable Criteria
- Level 3 QCF diploma in healthcare / NVQ level 3.
Knowledge
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in an acute healthcare or related environment.
- Understanding of health and safety considerations within healthcare.
- Knowledge of confidentiality principles and their application.
- Awareness of the role and responsibilities of a senior Health Care Assistant.
