Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom Norfolk Full time

Permanent positions | 37 hours per week | Level 2 or Senior Social Workers (Grade J/K) £37,336 to £45,442 per annum | Corporate Parenting teams in Norfolk

As the Head of Corporate Parenting in Norfolk, I am looking to recruit dedicated social workers for our In Care and Life Beyond Care Teams. We welcome applications from both Level 2 Social Workers and Senior Social Workers.

Our vision is to transform our approach to working with families, emphasizing practitioner involvement and relationship-centered practices. Through our initiative, Vital Signs, we aim to engage with entire family networks and the broader system to empower families, helping them to leverage their strengths for optimal outcomes.

We are responsible for all Looked After Children and Care Leavers in the region, acting as their Corporate Parent. Our In Care teams focus on children under 16, addressing various needs from adoption plans to long-term foster care and residential placements. Meanwhile, our Life Beyond Care teams support young individuals aged 16 and above as they transition into adulthood, extending support up to 21 years of age (or 25 if ongoing assistance is required).

Our commitment is to equip young people with the necessary skills and resilience for their journey toward independence, guided by our Support for Success team. This process begins early and is driven by the aspirations of the young individuals themselves. We prioritize understanding our young people, listening to their needs, and collaboratively developing plans that reflect their voices, fostering long-lasting relationships built on trust.

We are a forward-thinking Service dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for our young people. Central to our mission is a child-focused and relationship-based practice that ensures every young person is treated as an individual, with their voices heard. We take pride in our interactions with young people, their families, and their support networks, maintaining the same level of respect and collaboration with colleagues, partners, and external organizations. We believe that, despite being in care, maintaining relationships with family and spending quality time with family members is crucial, guiding our young people through our Life Story approach to help them understand their journeys and identity.

As Corporate Parents, we recognize the importance of providing our young people with learning opportunities. We collaborate closely with our Virtual School to promote education, employment, and training. Our approach not only focuses on health and well-being but also incorporates trauma-informed practices and therapeutic methods in our work with children, young people, their caregivers, and families. Our Support for Success team, which includes practitioners, clinicians, and clinical psychologists, offers specialized knowledge and skills to address the unique needs of our young people.

Candidates should possess a relevant professional qualification in Social Work and be registered with Social Work England. Experience in Corporate Parenting or transferable skills that demonstrate the ability to motivate individuals and foster high-performing teams is essential. Strong leadership capabilities and experience managing performance during transitions are also required.

We aim to inspire and motivate our staff to collaborate effectively, utilize our workspaces efficiently, maintain a healthy work-life balance, and deliver exceptional services to the community. Flexibility is integral to our operations, with hybrid working arrangements available for many roles. Our advanced technology platform and equipment facilitate seamless remote connectivity and collaboration.

Before applying, please review the full job description and person specification to tailor your application to the role's criteria.
