Job Overview

Are you a dedicated leader with a passion for making a difference? We are seeking a Director of Development Services at CancerCare North Lancashire and South Cumbria.

In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the enhancement of our client services for individuals of all ages, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support while exploring innovative opportunities for service sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Safeguarding Leadership

· Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the organization.

· Ensure that safeguarding issues are documented and addressed, maintaining compliance with governance standards.

2. Team Leadership

· Guide and inspire the engagement and youth teams, fostering a collaborative and effective working environment.

· Identify training needs and promote continuous professional development for team members.

3. Service Evaluation and Improvement

· Assess and enhance current services and initiatives.

· Develop actionable improvement plans based on evaluations.

4. Networking and Development

· Conduct research to advance service development.

· Collaborate with the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees to align services with strategic objectives.

· Cultivate strong relationships with referrers and partner organizations.

· Represent CancerCare at relevant external meetings to advocate for our services.

5. Support Group Management

· Ensure the establishment of forums for individuals with lived experiences of cancer.

· Oversee the development and funding of peer support groups for children and young people.

6. General Duties

· Assist in securing funding through grant applications and ensure compliance with funding agreements.

· Prepare necessary documentation for the Board of Trustees and Executive Leadership Team.

· Actively participate in the Executive Leadership Team's initiatives.

Qualifications

· A high level of education or equivalent professional experience.

· Proven experience in managing services at a senior level.

· A commitment to promoting the mission and values of CancerCare.
