Job Title: Lead Practice Nurse

The Lead Practice Nurse will play a key role in the primary healthcare team, providing exceptional patient care and support to the practice nurse team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-achieving practice, Beechfield Medical Centre, which is committed to delivering high-quality services to its patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Clinical Management team in developing and implementing health promotion and wellbeing programmes.
  • Develop and review audit protocols and processes for the practice, ensuring effective utilisation of the audit cycle.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of changes within the nursing team, enhancing the provision of services to patients.
  • Support the practice team in reviewing and implementing practice policies and protocols, ensuring conformance to extant legislation.
  • Delegate clinical responsibilities appropriately, ensuring safe practice and tasks within the scope of practice of the individual.
About Us:

Beechfield Medical Centre is a 21,500 patient GMS practice operating from purpose-built premises in the heart of the beautiful market town of Spalding in South Lincolnshire. We are high QOF achievers, score well in patient and trainee feedback, and work in an inclusive, supportive way to deliver high standards expected by our patients and ourselves. We are a Veteran Friendly and Learning Disability Friendly Practice and have been approved for Training Foundation Doctors.

We are proud to say we are a Menopause friendly workplace. We are assessed as Good in all domains by the Care Quality Commission and are fully engaged in the developmental and clinical work of our local Clinical Commissioning Group and GP Federation, with membership of the Governing Body of the CCG and Board of Directors of the Federation.

We host an in-house physiotherapy service, an employed Clinical Pharmacist, and a range of roles as part of our commitment to a Primary Care Network. We are an accredited provider of AQP services for minor surgical procedures. We utilise the EMIS (Web) Clinical System, and operate an on-the-day triage system between the Duty Doctor and our Nurse Practitioners.

We are part-dispensing, and a highly regarded training practice (with normally 2 trainees in situ) and have an active and supportive Patient Participation Group helping to ensure that we are listening to the needs of our large patient base.
