About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream primary school in the Sutton Coldfield area. The successful candidate will have a background in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and will be responsible for offering individualised support and facilitating small group sessions for pupils who require additional assistance in achieving their learning goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting SEN pupils in one-on-one, small group, and whole-class environments
  • Facilitating small group sessions and providing individualised support
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and adhering to the class teacher's guidance
  • Managing, updating, and reviewing EHCP progress
Requirements
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or an equivalent relevant qualification
  • Experience working with SEN students in an educational setting
  • Desirable qualifications include TeamTeach or training in Positive Behaviour Management
  • Strong communication skills, with a preference for experience in non-verbal methods such as Makaton and PECS
