We are seeking an experienced MRI radiographer to join our team at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. As a key member of our Radiology Department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our MRI service.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of MRI imaging examinations, including cardiac, gynecological, gastrointestinal, prostate, vascular, musculoskeletal, whole-body diffusion-weighted imaging, neurological, and pediatric imaging.
- Ensure high standards of MRI imaging and patient care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Independently assess and justify MRI referrals, adhering to departmental policy and guidelines.
- Supervise and assist specialist and junior radiographers, as well as students.
- Provide senior support to the MRI Lead and cover during their absence.
- Exercise professional discretion and expertise to ensure clinical practice is carried out correctly, professionally, and within the legal framework.
- Contribute to the development of the MRI service, working closely with the MRI Superintendent.
- Engage in personal and professional development to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
- Administer MRI contrast agents, including the use of specialized injector pumps.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of digital information systems, such as sending images via the web browser, changing labels/paper/film in printers, and retrieving images from archives.

Person Specification- Degree in Radiography (BSc) or equivalent (DCR)
- State registration (HCPC)
- IV Cannulation and Drug Administration training
- Postgraduate qualification in MRI and/or Leadership
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to proactively communicate with colleagues, medical staff, patients, and relatives.
- Evidence of organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to react well in stressful or unpleasant situations.
- Evidence of a team player mentality.
