Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Menswear Fashion Designer to join our team at Barbour. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating and developing seasonal ranges of menswear clothing that meet the brand's high standards and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop seasonal ranges of menswear clothing that meet the brand's design and quality standards.
  • Work closely with the technical team to ensure that designs are feasible and can be manufactured to the required quality and specification.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Barbour brand, its heritage, and its target market.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest fashion trends and consumer preferences to ensure that designs are relevant and appealing to our target audience.
  • Collaborate with other members of the design team to ensure that designs are cohesive and aligned with the brand's overall aesthetic.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of garment construction and fit across a range of categories.
  • Provide accurate and detailed technical specifications for each product to ensure that it can be manufactured to the required quality and specification.
  • Work closely with the marketing and e-commerce teams to ensure that designs are communicated effectively and accurately to our target audience.

Requirements:

  • Degree in clothing and fashion design.
  • Established experience of designing, developing, and presenting products in branded menswear fashion.
  • Knowledge of product development from concept to consumer launch.
  • Knowledge of garment construction and fit across a range of categories.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop packages.
  • Knowledge of PLM or similar systems would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of office packages i.e. Word, Excel etc would be preferable.
