Job Title: Kitchen Assistant

Contract Type: Permanent - Full Time, 38.5 hours per week, including alternate weekends.

Rate of Pay: £11.70 per hour

Location: Somerhill Nursing Home, Wiltshire

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Chef in meal preparation.
  • Prepare and serve meals to residents, staff, and visitors as required.
  • Prepare breakfast items and serve as needed.
  • Heat and serve supper food as required.
  • Prepare sandwiches as directed by the Chef.
  • Provide necessary crockery, cutlery, trays, and serving utensils.
  • Ensure serving trolleys are clean and well-presented before use.
  • Thoroughly clean serving trolleys after each meal.

Requirements:

  • We provide training for the role, so prior kitchen experience is not necessary, although it is beneficial.
  • A background in customer service or a people-oriented environment is desirable.
  • Individuals who can work well in a team and independently.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Evidence of relevant training, such as health and safety, food hygiene, is beneficial but not required.
