We are seeking two enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrists to join our Liaison Psychiatry team at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and consultant input into the Adult Liaison Psychiatry team. There is opportunity to develop a special interest in an area of the medical Trust (surgery, medicine, obstetrics) according to the areas of interest for the post-holder.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and consultant input into the Adult Liaison Psychiatry team.
- Develop a special interest in an area of the medical Trust (surgery, medicine, obstetrics).
- Work closely with acute colleagues to provide holistic care for patients with mental health needs who are admitted to the hospital.
- Diagnose and manage patients with a wide range of mental health problems who have physical morbidities.
- Support teams to manage patients with multiple, long term chronic health conditions.
Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK, specialising in mental health and learning disabilities, as well as offering physical health community-based services.
We are currently working closely with other NHS Trusts to integrate all our collective community, mental health, and learning disability services.
Our new organisation, to be known as Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS Foundation Trust, is set to launch in July 2024.
Person Specification- Full Registration with the General Medical Council.
- MRCPsych or recognised equivalent.
- Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 12 months of CCT at time of interview.
- CCT in general adult psychiatry.
- Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
