Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Nurse for our critical care unit. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of patient care within our 10-bed facility, catering to both Level 2 and Level 3 care needs.

Key Responsibilities

As the Lead Nurse, you will:

  • Provide clinical guidance and expert support to nursing staff, ensuring effective care delivery within your designated area.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and management of unit personnel, maintaining a high standard of care.
  • Assume 24-hour accountability for the operational management of the ward/department.
  • Regularly rotate through the Directorate or Hospital to offer leadership, address clinical challenges, and manage staffing as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Registration.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
  • Postgraduate expertise in your specialty, demonstrating the breadth of knowledge necessary for effective leadership.
  • Thorough understanding of clinical guidelines and standards relevant to your area of practice.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in conditions, policies, and procedures associated with your specialty.
  • Management qualifications or equivalent experience through professional development.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in your specialty.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork abilities, with a capacity to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management capabilities.
  • Basic IT proficiency.

Contract Details

This is a permanent, full-time position, requiring a commitment of 37 hours per week.

Location

The role is based within the critical care unit of our healthcare facility.
