Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Controller to join our team at Safran Engineering Services UK Limited. As a key member of our onsite team, you will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating inventory activities to ensure the achievement of reliable targets and optimize inventory levels and costs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Inventory Management: Manage, coordinate, and report on all inventory activities to ensure accurate tracking and control of inventory levels.
  2. Escalation Point: Provide the escalation point between manufacturing and stores/suppliers who deliver direct to the point of use.
  3. Inventory Storage: Organize and manage the activity and inventory storage for point of use components for the manufacturing unit.
  4. Logistical Support: Support logisticians in their activities to ensure the reliability of movements, including treatment of urgent deliveries, processing of scrap, and accurate record keeping.
  5. Inventory Discrepancies: Ensure controls are in place to ensure the proper execution of inventory discrepancies, physical and system movements, and waste management rules.
  6. Inventory Performance: Monitor and analyze inventory performance in coordination with the internal/external scheduler using defined metrics.
  7. Improvement Projects: Implement improvement projects for the permanent improvement of logistics flows and storage.
  8. Stock Takes and Audits: Conduct stock takes, audits, and assessments to ensure accurate inventory levels and compliance with company policies.
Requirements
  1. Supply Chain Knowledge: Detailed vision of production processes and company supply chain.
  2. MRP2 Processes: Proficiency in MRP2 processes.
  3. Market Knowledge: Knowledge of markets of Safran Group products.
  4. Inventory Management: Experience in inventory management and practices.
  5. Customs and Transport: Understanding of basic rules of customs and transport.
Desirable Skills
  • Information Systems: Familiarity with information systems used in the Supply Chain, including ERP and Supplier Portal.
  • Desktop Tools: Familiarity with desktop tools.
Personal Qualities
  • Analysis: Capacity to analyze complex problems, summarize, and find solutions.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with other departments.
  • Problem-Solving: Capacity to gauge the importance of discrepancies and anticipate consequences.
Working Environment
