About the Role:

Intellect Group is excited to announce a remarkable opportunity for a Sustainability Analyst / Lead within a prominent chemical distribution firm. This organization stands among the top five in Europe within its industry, boasting operations in 25 countries and a revenue of €1.5 billion. We seek an individual who is deeply committed to sustainability to join our team and contribute to the company's sustainability and decarbonization efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the company's environmental strategy. Your primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Carbon Emission Reduction: Formulating and implementing strategies aimed at minimizing the company's carbon emissions across all operational sectors, ensuring compliance with international standards and regulations.
  • Sustainable Practices Leadership: Spearheading initiatives focused on sustainable sourcing of chemicals, waste minimization, and enhancements in energy efficiency.
  • Decarbonization Planning: Developing and overseeing a comprehensive decarbonization strategy, establishing ambitious targets to achieve a net-zero carbon footprint.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engaging with internal teams and external stakeholders, including suppliers and regulatory agencies, to advance sustainability initiatives.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: Ensuring adherence to environmental legislation, preparing thorough sustainability reports for both internal and external audiences.
  • Innovation and Training: Identifying and applying new technologies and best practices to bolster sustainability efforts while educating the workforce on sustainable methodologies.
  • Project Oversight: Managing projects that focus on the development and maintenance of dashboards and metrics essential for tracking progress and informed decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a sustainability-focused role, ideally within the chemical distribution sector or a related field.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master's degree or relevant certifications would be advantageous.
  • Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of environmental regulations, carbon accounting, sustainable supply chain management, and project management. Excellent communication skills are essential.
